New Jersey Sharing Network
The New Jersey Sharing Network’s team members, volunteers and healthcare and community partners share a passion and commitment to saving and enhancing lives. They operate 24/7/365 to recover and place donated organs and tissue, support donor families, honor the legacy of those who gave the gift of life and raise awareness about the power of organ donation and transplantation.
They build a community of donation and transplantation, facilitate organ donation, procurement and transplantation, and honor and celebrate the lives and legacies of organ and tissue donors.
Bianca understood the importance of being an organ donor and knew she wanted to help others when she passed. Bianca was able to donate all her major organs and tissue which helped over 200 people. As a result of this, the foundation felt it was important to continue honoring Bianca and the sacrifice she made. In honor of Bianca giving the gift of life, the foundation holds the NJ Sharing Network near and dear to our hearts and we are adamant that we continuously support them with annual donations of various amounts. Our most generous donation was given to them thanks to our purse bingo fundraising event. Proceeds from this event went directly to the NJ Sharing Network and the amazing work they do to save and improve the lives of others. Our bingo event has been so successful through the years that we are able to continuously give to the NJ Sharing Network and also so much more.
In honor of Bianca’s birthday in 2022, some members of the board and Bianca’s family visited the NJ Sharing Network. While there, we were able to tour the building and learn more about what they do when it comes to organ and tissue donation.
Two members of the NJ Sharing Network, Janet and Jaqueline, took us through and told us the inspiring stories of the many organ donors and recipients. They also gave us insight into how the NJ Sharing Network runs on a daily basis.
When entering the building, the Landscape of Life was the first memorial of donors we were able to see. After donating $10,000 to the NJ Sharing Network, the foundation earned a leaf on the wall in memory of Bianca. We were also able to see her name listed on the ‘In Memory of” wall. Brooklyn was able to place a purple butterfly next to her mama’s name. The butterfly is thought to represent change and transformation, comfort, hope, and positivity.
After touring the building, we ended our tour in the Meditation Garden. This garden was created to honor those who gave, pay tribute to those who received, offer hope to those who continue to wait and remember the lives lost while waiting for the Gift of Life.
While in the Meditation Garden, you could write a message to your loved one on a heart-shaped paper and hang it somewhere, or on a river rock and place the rock in a place within the garden.
Our trip to the NJ Sharing Network was a breathtaking experience and we were honored to see where and how the Gift of Life came to be from behind the scenes.
We thank the NJ Sharing Network for your hospitality and kindness and for taking care of our girl when giving the gift of life.
